Everyone agrees that a well-equipped, quality hospital can significantly contribute to the fields of medicine and healthcare. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) established the M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MK FMHS) and related courses in Sungai Long Campus as early as 2009. To focus on training highly qualified doctors, providing excellent patient care and medical services, and contributing to the community’s overall health, UTAR decided to raise funds to establish the UTAR Hospital.
In support of the establishment of UTAR Hospital, BE International has pledged a donation of RM1.5 million to support UTAR Hospital’s fundraising, fostering a more advanced medical environment.
Earlier today, BE International’s management representatives conducted a meaningful donation handover ceremony at the UTAR Hospital T&CM Block. BE International founders Ir. Lee Suet Sen and Ms. Ho Huey Chuin presented the cheque to Ir. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ewe Hong Tat, the UTAR President, Ms. Maria Khong, the UTAR Hospital Deputy CEO, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Te Kian Keong, the Director of T&CM Centre, and Mr. Simon Chong, the President of UTAR Alumni Association of Malaysia.
As an international direct-selling company with the ultimate goal of “bringing health and happiness to everyone,” since its inception in 2017, BE International has actively supported various social groups, practising corporate social responsibility with cumulative donations reaching millions.
These initiatives include seven contributions to the Sin Chew Foundation to alleviate poverty and assist residents in disaster-stricken areas. The company has also partnered with the international relief organisation World Vision, providing long-term support to underprivileged children from Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Additionally, BE International has served as a Premium Sponsor for the “30-Hour Famine” program and has assisted numerous organisations such as orphanages, Sungai Buloh Hospital, and Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation.
Our philanthropic efforts have garnered widespread acclaim and recognition, reflected in our list of accolades. Beyond numerous product awards, we proudly received the Malaysia Health & Wellness Brand Award (CSR Category) in both 2019 and 2022, the Asia Responsibility Enterprise Awards (AREA)(Social Empowerment Category) in 2019, the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Award in 2020, and the 3G Best CSR Campaign Awards in 2021.
